WhatsApp Introduces Message Drafts: A Handy New Feature
WhatsApp has finally answered the prayers of its users by introducing the highly anticipated Message Drafts feature. This addition is designed to remind you of those moments when you start typing a message but don’t hit send, for whatever reason. With this update, you’ll never lose track of your unfinished thoughts again.
How the Message Drafts Feature Works
The Message Drafts feature is simple yet effective. When you type a message but don’t send it, you’ll see a “Draft” indicator in green at the beginning of the message in your chats list. This visual cue makes it easy to identify which chats have unsent messages. Additionally, the chat with the draft will automatically move to the top of your chats list, ensuring you don’t overlook it.
But Do Drafts Sync Across Devices?
While the Message Drafts feature is a welcome addition, we found a slight hiccup during our testing in India. Unfortunately, the drafts do not sync across companion devices or the web. This means that if you start typing a message on your phone and then switch to your tablet or computer, you won’t be able to access the draft on the other device. This is a notable drawback when compared to rival app Telegram, which offers seamless syncing of drafts across multiple devices. The ability to start a message on one device and finish it on another is a convenience we’d love to see WhatsApp adopt in future updates.

Final Thoughts
The introduction of message drafts in WhatsApp is a step in the right direction, providing users with a helpful reminder system for unsent messages. However, the lack of draft syncing across devices is a missed opportunity. We hope that WhatsApp takes a leaf out of Telegram’s book and implements this feature in future updates, making the messaging experience even more seamless and enjoyable for its users worldwide.
