Xiaomi has dropped a treat for photography enthusiasts ahead of the official launch of the Xiaomi 15 series. The company has released camera samples taken with the upcoming Xiaomi 15 and its higher-end sibling, the Xiaomi 15 Pro. These samples offer a glimpse into the impressive camera capabilities that users can expect from the new devices.

Xiaomi 15 Pro: 50MP Main Camera and Telephoto Lens

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is shaping up to be a photographer’s dream. The samples below showcase the power of its 50MP main camera, a significant upgrade in resolution. But it’s not just about the megapixels. The Pro model also features a new 50MP telephoto unit, offering 5x optical zoom. This is a notable improvement over the 3.2x telephoto camera on the previous generation Xiaomi 14 Pro.

What’s more, the main camera on the Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to boast a wide f/1.4 aperture, ensuring excellent low-light performance, while the telephoto lens will have a relatively wide f/2.5 aperture, letting in more light for better-exposed photos.

Xiaomi is also showcasing the capabilities of its AI-aided image processing algorithm, AISP 2.0. This technology reduces image processing time by a significant 82% while also enhancing image quality. To demonstrate this, Xiaomi shared photos taken with the 3.2x telephoto lens on the standard Xiaomi 15, cropped to reach 5x zoom. Even with the lower-specced model, the AISP 2.0 ensures solid image quality.
