Introduction of HyperOS 2 by Xiaomi
Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its latest Android skin, HyperOS 2, alongside the launch of its flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. This new operating system introduces a host of performance optimizations and AI-powered features, elevating the user experience to new heights.
Core Technological Innovations: HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI
HyperOS 2 is designed to offer a fresh and advanced experience, thanks to its three core technological innovations. HyperCore enhances fundamental functionality with an improved scheduler, better memory and I/O management, and a revamped rendering pipeline. HyperConnect ensures seamless smart connectivity across multiple devices, with continuous improvements in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G for a network connection without blind spots. HyperAI, as the name suggests, focuses on AI interactions, bringing a range of intelligent features to Xiaomi devices.
AI-Powered Features and Enhancements
With HyperOS 2, Xiaomi has introduced a host of AI-powered features. The new lock screen has a movie-like feel to it, and AI-generated dynamic wallpapers add a touch of uniqueness. The home screen has been upgraded with visual enhancements and richer widgets, providing users with more customization options. Smoother animations and a 3D weather representation in the Weather app further enhance the overall visual experience.
One of the key highlights of HyperOS 2 is the cross-device functionality it enables. Users can now control their phone from their tablet in a windowed interface, and the cross-device clipboard allows for seamless copying and pasting between devices. Additionally, HyperOS 2 introduces AI Magic Painting, AI Voice Recognition with real-time text conversion, AI Writing tools, AI Translation with simultaneous interpretation, and AI Anti-Fraud for identifying fraudulent calls and videos.
Rollout Timeline and Device Compatibility
The rollout of HyperOS 2 will begin in November 2024, starting with the Xiaomi 14 series, Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip, Redmi K70 series, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4. In December, the update will reach the Xiaomi 13 line, Mix Fold 3, Civi 4 Pro, Redmi K60 and Turbo 3 series, Redmi Note 14, and the Xiaomi and Redmi Pad families. More devices will receive the update in the first half of 2025. It’s important to note that this timeline currently applies to Chinese devices only, with the international version of HyperOS 2 and its rollout schedule yet to be announced.
